As a busy mom juggling kids, meals, and an endless to-do list, the idea of making money online seemed like a dream. But once I figured out the right strategy, I made my first $1,000 online, and I haven’t looked back since! Whether you're looking to supplement your income or replace your 9-5, I'm here to share exactly how I did it—without sacrificing family time.
I was stressed in a 9-5 that was robbing me of family time, yet I was struggling financially. On top of that, the toxic work environment was draining me and I felt as if I was losing my mind. I needed a way out and fast! Then I found digital marketing.
1. Finding the Right Opportunity
With so many online income streams, I needed something flexible and beginner-friendly. After researching, I found a digital marketing community that teaches over 30 ways to make money online. I made a one-time investment and became a member. I then started with several great options:
Selling Digital Products (e-books, printables, planners, templates)
Affiliate Marketing (earning commissions promoting products I love)
Freelancing (offering services like social media management and writing)
Starting a Blog (sharing my journey and monetizing it)
I decided to start with digital products because they are low-maintenance and can generate passive income.
2. Creating My First Digital Product
I knew I had to create something valuable but easy to produce. Since I was already good at organizing my life as a mom, I created a printable planner for moms to help with time management and self-care.
Here’s what I did:
Used Canva to design a simple yet beautiful planner.
Uploaded it to Beacons, Amazon KDP, and Gumroad, platforms that make selling digital products easy.
Promoted it on Pinterest, where moms like me search for organization tips.
Within my first month, I made $300 just from this planner alone!
3. Leveraging Affiliate Marketing
Once I gained confidence, I added affiliate marketing to my income streams. I promote the Digital Boss Academy that I am a part of and make 80% each time someone purchases from my affiliate link.
Here’s how I made money:
Wrote blog posts & social media content about my journey.
Added affiliate links to helpful tools I was using.
Created Pinterest pins that led to my blog and product links.
By month two, my affiliate commissions added another $400 to my earnings!
4. Offering a Simple Service
Since I became familiar with Canva, I started offering Pinterest pin design services for other moms and small businesses. I charged $25 per set of 5 pins, and within weeks, I booked several clients, making another $300 in extra income.
5. Scaling Up & Hitting $1,000!
By week 5 , I had multiple streams working together:
✅ $500+ from digital product sales
✅ $400 from affiliate marketing
✅ $300 from my Pinterest design services
With some smart marketing and consistency, I hit my first $1,000 online!
How You Can Do It Too!
If you’re a busy mom looking to make money online, here’s my advice:
Choose 1-2 income streams to start with (digital products & affiliate marketing are great options!)
Use Pinterest & social media to promote your offers
Join online communities to learn from others & get support
Stay consistent & don’t give up!
